"Paper Doll Stories: Life Profiles and Confessions" by Jayne Harnett-Hargrove

Cabinet of Curiosities, MOA’s latest exhibition features a variety of “cabinets” by artists from around the U.S. North Carolina based artist, Jayne Harnett-Hargrove, has created a cabinet for the show entitled “Paper Doll stories: life profiles and confessions”. This figurative cabinet is comprised of a series of paper dolls each based on a different female heroine. The characters have individual tales, written on the dolls themselves, and are brought to life through an original costume ensemble reflecting each character’s persona.
Here is an excerpt from one of these tales: “Garden Variety”.
