About Mind Fields

Mind Fields presents the essence of the human presence -- the central nervous system and its mysterious spirit -- removed of age, race, gender, era, and all the other things we use to distinguish ourselves from the whole of nature. These nine figures resemble a primitive form of one of the most complex structures in the universe -- a structure that enables us to process our life experiences and communicate them in ways, which make us grow and evolve in mind, body, and consciousness. Todd Siler states, “When people ponder the miracle of our existence, we stand to see our life’s purpose -- and, perhaps, discover the meanings behind the purpose. These sculptural muses exist to inspire awareness and curiosity about the evolution of “humanature:” humankind’s integration with nature. They beckon us to wonder: What future developments in human architecture will be accelerated by advances in genetic and nuclear engineering?” A similar question was posed along with a natural variation of these symbolic Central Nervous System (CNS) Icons in Todd Siler’s multi-part artscience installation, “Radical Futures.”
