About Psychedilly Rose II
One of a small number of artists who shaped public sculpture in the US in the 1960s and 70s, Steve Urry defied the paradigm that previously governed metal sculpture in the early 20th century. He went against the industrial style of the Cubists and Constructivists. Instead, Urry refined his craft through his unique
approach to space and form. Urry’s composition leads the viewer through a trail of fluid, organic lines in space. The artist “exploits an enormous strength-to-weight ratio while contorting
and enlivening the space.” | RETURN | |
