Design and Build™ Internship Program

MOA offers internships at its headquarters in Englewood, CO. The internship program is designed to provide students with a professional level experience creating Media, Performance, and Design in the arena of Public Art.

Thank you for your interest in the Museum of Outdoor Arts' Design and Build Internship. We are very excited about the upcoming internships in Media, Design and Performance. If you are between the ages of 18-24 and excited to cross train in different areas of the artistic process, than this is the program for you!

We are currently accepting applications for Summer session 2008. Summer session runs from June 23 - August 12. The final product of this program is a public, professional quality, Multi Media Performance at the Englewood CityCenter Amphitheatre on August 9, 2008 accompanied by a symphony orchestra (Up Close and Musical). Students selected for this program will be awarded a $2,000 stipend. School credit may be available per your schools requirements. These are full time positions. Interns are expected to participate 9:30am-5pm Monday-Friday with the addition of some night rehearsals and Saturdays as the performance draws near.

2008 will be an exciting year for internships at the Museum of Outdoor Arts. This years production is entitled "A Collection of Keepers". Under the tutelage of Creative Director Lonnie Hanzon, interns will cross train in three areas: Media, Design, and Performance, while lending specific talents to specific tasks. Interns will engage in a rigorous and professional training process, preparing them for "real world" expectations.

Media Interns
Media interns will work on all media related content for the production. Applicants must have basic working knowledge of Final Cut Pro and/or After Effects. Applicants must also be able to work on Apple computers.

The internship will consist of media production, including filming and editing of short films and/or slideshows. A working knowledge of camera, audio and lighting equipment is needed.

Design Interns
Design Interns will work in a studio environment and will give form to puppets, costumes, lighting and set elements. A working knowledge of various crafts, including sewing, assemblage, carpentry, painting and puppetry are helpful.

Performance Interns
Performance interns will work with each other, under the direction of a peer leader to create both pre-produced content and live performance. Backround in puppetry, dance and/or performance art is encouraged.
